Avoid eating or drinking before bedtime


This advice should be taken into consideration regardless of insomnia suffering, simply because it activates digestive system and keeps you up at night, while drinking may cause your overwhelm your bladder.

Eliminate stimulants of any kind


Alcohol, caffeine, nicotine and other stimulants should all be eliminated from your daily use, if you want to ensure a good night sleep. Alcohol can have a soothing effect on an individual in the first few hours, but once the effect wears off, it can lead to an unrest and uncomfortable sleep.

Reduce stress


There are numerous ways to do this before going to bed, like a soothing music or an audio tape made to relieve stress and calm you before you go to bed.

Avoid naps


Though napping can be an effective way to compensate for the missed hours of sleep, they should not interfere with the night sleep. It is important to establish a sleeping pattern and stick to it.
